Re-Empower Program
The Raytheon Technologies Re-Empower Program provides a unique opportunity to support experienced professionals as they relaunch their careers after taking a two or more year career break. The program provides professional development, training, mentoring and networking with the goal of transitioning into full-time or part-time roles within our organization.
How our program works

Nikki Lawrence

Daniel Seabourn
"The structure, mentoring and peer buddy system really set me up for success."
Finishing up his last weeks in the second cohort of the program, Daniel Seabourn is currently a senior project engineer at Pratt & Whitney. He loves how the program looks at gaps in traditional work experience “through a different lens and finds talent in unusual places.” That unusual place in Daniel’s case was volunteering abroad. Though it may not be traditional, he says the experience helped him “develop leadership skills, gain new perspective” and served as “a good bridge between design and management.”
Tak Szeto
“I’m working with technology I never would have applied for normally. Raytheon Technologies allowed me to redevelop old skills while developing completely new ones.”
After taking a short hiatus to care for family, Tak Szeto is now a senior software engineer at Collins Aerospace. He emphasized the importance of the Re-Empower Program through the unique opportunity it gives people who had to leave the workforce: “If people have a crisis at home and have to decide whether or not to leave work, knowing you can come back in with ease helps with big decisions.” Having started in the telecommunication industry, Tak is empowered and enthusiastic about his new career in the aerospace industry.
Kelly Thompson
“The environment is very supportive during a transition that can be quite challenging."
After taking a career break, Kelly Thompson decided to return to the workforce and is now Senior Manager at Collins Aerospace, thanks to the program. She said the program allowed her to “return to an equivalent role from when [she] stepped away.” Though the transition back into the workforce can be challenging, she found organizational skills used in volunteer work during her career break, the peer-buddy system and tech mentor helped make that transition much smoother. Overall, she says that Re-Empower is “an incredible program that offers support through a variety on avenues.”
