Raytheon UK conducts Paveway® IV precision guided bomb integration trials

Successful trials strengthen NATO’s lethality and will increase interoperability for the joint forces

LONDON (Sept. 08, 2025) – Raytheon UK, part of RTX’s (NYSE: RTX) Raytheon business, has successfully conducted Paveway® IV integration trials on the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft.

RWM Italia S.p.A., part of Rheinmetall group, facilitated the integration trials, which were conducted in July at Royal Air Force Marham and MOD Aberporth. The trials included weapon and platform training, live-fire exercises, mission planning simulations and cross-force tactical integration.

“This collaboration underscores the strength of NATO partnerships and our shared commitment to maintaining a technological edge on the battlefield,” said Capt RN Deavin, Combat Air Deputy Force Commander.

Paveway IV is developed and manufactured by Raytheon and utilises Rheinmetall Italia’s warhead. It is a dual-mode, precision-guided bomb that has been a cornerstone of the RAF’s air-to-ground arsenal since 2008.

“The successful completion of these trials is an important milestone in allied defence cooperation,” said James Gray, CEO of Raytheon UK. “Our work with RWM Italia S.p.A and the Royal Air Force exemplifies how industry can enable greater interoperability, lethality and capability across NATO forces, helping them maintain air superiority.”
