RTX’s Collins Aerospace secures FlightSense™ and Dispatch℠ contracts with China Airlines
Intelligent suite of service solutions provides actionable data and critical operational assurance to the airline’s widebody fleet
MRO Asia Pacific (Sept. 17, 2025) – Collins Aerospace, an RTX business (NYSE: RTX), has secured two 20-year contracts with China Airlines, a Taiwan-based carrier, to provide FlightSense™ and DispatchSM solutions for its Boeing wide-body fleets. These solutions are expected to enhance the airline’s operational efficiency, improve reliability and optimize maintenance schedules across a number of systems, including avionics, cargo, electrical power, environmental control and lighting.
Both FlightSense and Dispatch solutions provide guaranteed component availability, reduced downtime and cost predictability through a fixed-rate service model. Under the long-term agreement, Collins will deliver predictive, reliability-based maintenance support to ensure optimal performance of avionics systems.
“FlightSense will provide China Airlines with more than just reliable service and access to data, it will enable a connected aircraft ecosystem, turning raw data into actionable insights and smarter decisions for fleets,” said Brian Barta, vice president and general manager of aftermarket services and support at Collins Aerospace. “Collins’ Dispatch program will keep China Airlines ahead of potential avionics issues, pairing proactive support with global service center availability, ensuring aircraft are operating efficiently.”
The FlightSense predictable service agreement ensures the availability of parts and high-quality maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for the airline’s Boeing 787 aircraft. Collins’ Dispatch avionics service program will also provide comprehensive MRO support for the airline’s 787 Dreamliner fleet, as well as Boeing 777 and Boeing 777 freighter aircraft. In addition, the solution covers asset and logistical support, while providing access to a pool of certified spares and repairs.
FlightSense is a full lifecycle maintenance support program tailored to support airlines’ specific operational requirements, enabling improved operational performance. The FlightSense program integrates Collins’ Ascentia® platform for advanced prognostics and health management software to provide customizable levels of support. Ascentia gathers and interprets massive amounts of data, delivering insights that can improve operational performance, optimize part availability and reduce no-fault found scenarios.
