RTX’s Collins Aerospace invests more than $40 million in Puerto Rico
Global aerospace company to add 525 new jobs on the island
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (Feb. 23, 2026) -- Collins Aerospace, an RTX (NYSE: RTX) business, will invest more than $40 million to support two operational expansions and the modernization of facilities including infrastructure, machinery and equipment at its Santa Isabel and Aguadilla locations, Governor Jenniffer González Colón announced today. The project will add approximately 525 highly skilled, full-time engineering and manufacturing jobs on the island, increasing Collins' Puerto Rico workforce to nearly 2,100 employees and growing total RTX employees to 3,500.
The event was held in San Juan at La Fortaleza, the official residence of the governor, with Secretary of Department of Economic Development and Commerce Sebastián Negrón Reichard, Executive Director of Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company Roberto Lefranc Fortuño and Collins executives in attendance.
"Puerto Rico is a strategic hub for Collins’ continued sustainable growth,” Javier Ramis Rivero, vice president of global operations for Collins. “Our planned expansion will create a shared infrastructure focused on end-to-end electronics operations, from design to manufacturing, enhancing support and on time delivery for our customers. This will allow us to optimize productivity and automation, providing scalable automation solutions, connected factories and hands-on learning areas.”
Collins has operated in Puerto Rico for more than 30 years, delivering the entire product life cycle -- from design and manufacturing through maintenance, repair and overhaul --for integrated systems and components serving the aerospace and defense industry. Its Santa Isabel location delivers electronics and electromechanical components while its facility in Aguadilla provides engineering services across Collins.
“Puerto Rico's economic development is built on attracting and retaining high-value-added industries that create well-paying jobs. This expansion demonstrates the aerospace sector's confidence in our talent, our infrastructure, and in public policy aligned with sustained growth,” said Governor Colón.
The Secretary of the DDEC, Sebastián Negrón Reichard, highlighted the project's strategic impact for the island. “This expansion, which we announce today alongside the company, is the result of effective collaboration between the public and private sectors. At the DDEC, we have supported this project for its direct impact on the creation of specialized jobs, investment in advanced technology, and strengthening of the aerospace value chain in Puerto Rico,” said the Secretary.
Puerto Rico Industrial Development Corporation’s Executive Director, Roberto Lefranc, emphasized the role of industrial infrastructure in economic development. "At PRIDCO, we continue to maximize the use of our industrial facilities to attract world-class investment. This project with Collins not only revitalizes existing infrastructure in Santa Isabel and Aguadilla but also drives regional economic development and reaffirms the value of public-private partnerships.”
Processes and products for Collins in Puerto Rico include digital and controller systems such as switches, system controllers, and moving map displays; electrical systems including high-power controllers as well as motor and signal-level controllers; and communications systems covering radar products, radio-frequency technologies, and high-frequency transmitters.
