Part of solving any great challenge is measuring your progress. To that end, Raytheon Technologies has published its Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Report – an important step in the ongoing evolution of our company.

As a global company doing business in more than 100 countries, we have both the opportunity and the responsibility to make a significant impact. Our strategy takes our DE&I efforts beyond our workforce and into our supply chain, our communities and our public policies. We believe this intentional, multifaceted approach will drive systemic change for long-lasting, generational impact.

Workforce diversity

Raytheon Technologies employs more than 180,000 people around the world, and we endeavor to build the most diverse and inclusive workforce in our industry.

 

To do this, we are focusing on:

  • Improving representation of women and people of color through hiring, advancement and retention.
  • Mitigating biases in our processes and systems.
  • Providing learning and development opportunities for our employees and evolving our employee resource groups to drive an inclusive culture.
  • Improving self-identification to better understand and serve employee populations.
  • Factoring DE&I into executive performance evaluation and compensation to ensure accountability at the highest levels of our company.

 

Gender diversity

Raytheon Technologies is on par with the aerospace and defense industry in terms of gender diversity in our global workforce, according to our analysis of data though 2020. We have the same percentage of women leaders and individual contributors, and we are working to increase our percentage in both areas. As part of our efforts to increase the presence of women within our organization, we have set a goal that 50% of our executive-level talent will be women by 2030. 

Racial and ethnic diversity

Nearly one-third of the Raytheon Technologies U.S. workforce identifies as people of color, which is comparable to our industry peers. Our plan for racial and ethnic diversity includes a focus on increasing the representation of people of color within our executive ranks.

Community engagement

We strive to lift up underserved communities, inspire the workforce of the next generation, provide resources to veterans as they transition to the civilian workforce and build a world that is more prosperous and equitable for all. Raytheon Technologies partners with organizations and invests in initiatives that affect positive, long-term change through our Connect Up initiative.

Public policy

Raytheon Technologies advocates for public policy that matters to our company and its stakeholders. This includes the advancement of education equity, social justice reform and equitable economic policies.

Some of the actions we are taking include:

  • Leading a consortium within our industry to lobby for increased programs supporting Black and Hispanic students in STEM.
  • Using data about underrepresented communities to inform our advocacy for local education reform and business operation location choices.
  • Aligning with organizations and influencers focused on generating equitable policies for underrepresented people and communities.
  • Integrating societal impact factors into our business processes and decisions.
