Through its Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney and Raytheon businesses, RTX supports aviation innovation with commercial, military aircraft and civil aircraft engines, propeller systems, aerostructures, avionics and fire protection for original equipment manufacturers. It contributes to civil, government and defense programs such as the A400M, C-130H, helicopters, air traffic control solutions, effectors, secure communications and engineering services generating French intellectual property.

With more than 2,100 suppliers in France, RTX supports more than 10,000 indirect jobs, bolsters supply chain resilience and contributes to exports. Our involvement in the Digital Alliance allows us to develop predictive maintenance solutions that enhance airline reliability and safety. As a founding member of the French Aerospace Industries Association, RTX collaborates with French suppliers, French Civil Aviation Authority, and the French Aerospace Lab to drive aerospace and defense innovation.

Commercial engines

Pratt & Whitney partners with commercial, civil and regional airline customers in France, along with aircraft OEMs, including Airbus, ATR and Dassault, and suppliers and partners to support the growth and operations of the country’s aviation sector. Multidisciplinary teams in Toulouse, comprised of engineers, mechanics, and customer support specialists, play a vital role in OEM support, product delivery, flight test, certification and operational execution for large commercial engine programs.  Pratt & Whitney supports flight test and certification for the GTF™ engines, including the GTF Advantage™. Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance, our GTF MRO partner, performs maintenance on the PW1500G GTF engine at its Paris facility.

Advanced structures 

Collins Aerospace in France specializes in advanced materials and manufacturing technologies across its Colomiers and Figeac sites. The Figeac facility, a global center of excellence for propellers, designs and manufactures systems for aircraft like the A400M Atlas, C130H Hercules, and ATR regional turboprops, while also supplying cockpit equipment to major global players. In Colomiers, Collins focuses on assembling, manufacturing and painting nacelles for Pratt & Whitney GTF™ engines as well as nacelles for the Airbus A350 and Dassault Falcon F6X aircraft. Collins also has engineering and flight test capabilities in Toulouse as well as a large MRO shop and a Spares Distribution Center serving Europe, Middle East and Africa regions.

Avionics

Collins Aerospace in France develops advanced avionics, fire protection, and communication solutions for commercial and defense sectors. As a center of excellence, it supports customers worldwide through the entire product lifecycle, leveraging expertise in engineering, program management, manufacturing and maintenance. On the commercial side, the Toulouse team supports technologies like the FOMAX system for secure wireless connectivity on A320 and A330 aircraft. On the defense side, Collins upgraded the French Air Force’s C-130H Hercules with the Flight2 avionics solution to enhance mission capabilities.

Air warfare

Raytheon in France has supported the French Armed Forces for three decades by providing precision munitions and engineering services. This includes integrating air-to-ground precision munitions like the Paveway® guided ammunitions for French Mirage 2000D and Rafale fighters, Atlantic 2 for the Navy and MQ-9 Reapers, as well as customization and maintenance of the Collins Aerospace tactical air traffic systems, like the ATNAVICS systems that will be delivered at the French Armée de Terre in 2027.
