RTX’s Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor program secures first international supplier

WZE will manufacture energy storage assembly modules in Poland

KIELCE, Poland (Sept. 3, 2025) – Raytheon, an RTX (NYSE: RTX) business, signed an agreement with WZE to provide energy storage assembly modules for the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor, or LTAMDS, positioning WZE to become the first international supplier for the program.

LTAMDS full-sector sensing capabilities specifically address European threat scenarios – massive, coordinated attacks that feature a mix of threats including ballistic and cruise missiles and drones.

“This agreement is a big step toward establishing LTAMDS’ global supply chain,” said Tom Laliberty, president of Land & Air Defense Systems at Raytheon. “Poland is the first international country to complement the combat-proven Patriot with LTAMDS, providing extended-range and full, 360-degree coverage to detect and defend against complex, highly coordinated, multi-threat attack scenarios.”

The subcontract builds upon the offset provisions for the Polish Government’s WISLA Phase 2 program. Raytheon’s successful deliveries for WISLA Phase 1 were supported by collaborative partnerships with Polish industry.

In August 2024, Raytheon was awarded a U.S. Army contract valued at more than $2 billion to deliver radars for the U.S. and Poland. With this Foreign Military Sale, Poland is the first international customer to add LTAMDS to their air and missile defense architecture.
