Raytheon’s CODEX Division

CODEX (short for Cyber Offense & Defense Experts) brings together an elite team of mission-focused industry experts—known for their ability to overcome the most advanced technical challenges. The team comprises engineers of multiple disciplines, including vulnerability research, reverse engineering, software engineering, computer network operations, computer network exploitation development, hardware emulation, system engineering, data analytics, and test engineering. We work on an array of technologies, including the latest mobile platforms, operating systems, embedded devices, and the newest data analytic platforms.

CODEX's Cyber Resiliency Products

Our unique command and control approach to data protection and resiliency implements a zero trust framework to solve the data protection challenges our partners face. We specialize in bolstering the resiliency of mission-critical systems so an organization is able to perform essential functions and operations even when an adversary has penetrated its defenses and compromised its network. We support a multi-layered approach to address the unique protection needs across the hardware, software and communications layers of a system to provide a comprehensive solution.

Our Strength Is in the CODEX Culture

CODEX culture emphasizes mission first, people always. Our team of more than 500 experts comes from multiple disciplines, backgrounds, and geographic locations to address evolving operational missions. Our passion for growing talent empowers engineers to create new opportunities, explore new missions, collaborate, mentor junior engineers, and participate in multiple facets of the business.

We only take on work that is hard, engaging, and meaningful. We foster an environment where pushing the limits of our technical ability is the norm and occasional failure does not deter us. True innovation comes from trying new things and seeing what works. We push ourselves and each other to learn and grow, explore the latest training opportunities, and continually hone our craft by winning capture-the-flag (CTF) events. CODEX prides itself on being a tight-knit community focused on delivering the most impactful solutions for our customers.

Worried you don’t have the right skills? No problem! You could be eligible to attend our Offensive Labs program. Offensive Labs is a three-month program run by CODEX where recent hires and current staff members are paid to learn skills — such as CNO development, vulnerability research, and reverse engineering — they need to succeed.

What Should You Study?

If you are not certain where to start, you can read advice from CODEX engineers on what to study and learn to increase your chances of being hired by the CODEX team.
