Barbara Borgonovi is president of Air & Space Defense Systems for Raytheon, an RTX business specializing in integrated air and missile defense, advanced sensors, space-based systems, hypersonics, and next-generation effectors. Raytheon’s ASDS strategic business unit provides unmatched capabilities to accomplish air, space and missile defense missions, including AMRAAM® missile, StormBreaker® smart weapon, AN/TPY-2 Radar, and the payloads for the Next-Gen OPIR Geosynchronous Earth Orbit program.

She previously served as president of Raytheon’s Naval Power business unit, where she led teams delivering marquee maritime systems including SM-2™ and SM-6® missiles, the SM-3® interceptor, Tomahawk® Cruise Missile, the SPY-6 family of radars, and air systems like the AIM-9X® SIDEWINDER® missile and Next Gen Jammer. Under her leadership, the organization secured multiple multibillion-dollar bookings and consistently delivered strong execution performance, including increased production rates that supported improved profitability and sustained the critical capabilities service members rely on.

Before leading Naval Power, she headed Corporate Strategy & Development for RTX, overseeing enterprise strategy and merger, acquisition and divestiture activities to drive growth and profitability. Since joining the company in 2001, she has held leadership roles across program management, supply chain, operations and quality, including president of Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance Systems and vice president roles within Space and Airborne Systems.

Borgonovi is a member of the University of Arizona College of Engineering’s Dean’s Advisory Board. She holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and a master’s degree in business administration from Pepperdine University.
